How to Remove Investment Limits

For Accredited Investors, there are no restrictions regarding investment limits for either Regulation A+ or Regulation Crowdfunding offerings.

For reference, most accredited investors are individuals who have a net worth of at least $1 million excluding the value of their primary residence, or earn at least $200,000 in income each year ($300K if combined with a spouse). A Non-Accredited investor is anyone else.

To protect our investors and issuers, StartEngine by default has all investors marked as Non-Accredited in terms of their maximum investment amount. In order to remove these limits on the platform after you make a StartEngine account, please e-mail our investor services team at contact@startengine.com with either an accreditation letter OR a bank statement(s) with $1+ million cash. Please view a sample accreditation letter for reference. This letter must be signed by a registered broker-dealer, a SEC-registered investment adviser, a licensed attorney, or a certified public accountant showing that they have already verified you as an accredited investor within the last three months.

Following approval from our investor services team, your limits will be fully removed. contact@startengine.com is the best e-mail address to reach out to for any further questions on this topic.

Note: For full information on which additional individuals and entities may qualify as accredited investors, please see https://www.sec.gov/node/172921 and https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2020-191.
