Information Regarding Large Investors

Congratulations for having or anticipating large investments in your campaign! Here are some items we feel are important to know about large investments on StartEngine.com.

When a large investment comes in, our team automatically flags it for expedited review. If you personally know the investor, please let your Campaign Management team know — reach out to them directly or email hello@startengine.com.

• Large investors must use ACH or Wire Transfer for any amount over $50,000. Credit cards are not accepted for investments over $50,000, and any amount over $100,000 must be done via wire transfer.

• Large investments over $25,000 will not typically be displayed on your page until the investment has cleared.

  • Clearing an investment requires that all funds be received, there are no complications with the investor (e.g. AML or bank issues), and you have disbursed on those funds.

  • To disburse, you must have been on the platform for 21 days and raised over 120% of your minimum funding goal.

  • An exception is if you know the investor personally and have a high degree of confidence the investment will be received — StartEngine can't risk misrepresenting funds raised by showing a large uncleared investment that may never come through.
