Is there a checklist of things we should be doing while our campaign is live?
Yes. A successful campaign takes steady marketing and quick follow-through on the operational side. Use this checklist to stay on track from launch to close.
As with any marketing, consistency and relevance matter most. Reach out first to the people who know your company best, then to people in your industry, then to the general public.
Every week: marketing
Post campaign updates at least 2–3 times per week in the Marketing Content tab of your Issuer Dashboard. Updates are emailed to your followers and investors. Submit each update at least 48 hours ahead, since our compliance team reviews it before it's published.
Post on social media at least 3 times per week (for example Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X). Link to your StartEngine campaign page.
Email each segment of your list at least twice during the campaign, and resend to people who didn't open the first email.
Run retargeting ads to reach people who have already visited your campaign page. This requires your tracking pixels to be set up (see How can I use tracking tools with my campaign?).
Keep pitching the press. Email or call journalists, bloggers, podcasters, and influencers with a specific angle, and include a link to your campaign page.
Every day: engage with investors
Answer comments within one business day. You'll get an email for each new comment. Review replies carefully before posting, since comments can't be edited or removed. See How do I respond to investor comments on my campaign page?
Check your dashboard for new investments and any marked “not received,” and follow up where needed. See Why do some investments say “not received”?
Throughout the campaign: operations and compliance
Approve disbursements promptly. Once you're eligible, your Campaign Manager will schedule disbursements, and you'll get an email from community@startengine.com asking you to approve each one. Delays can put funds at risk if a material amendment is filed later. See When can I withdraw funds from my campaign?
Tell your Campaign Manager about material changes right away, such as new officers or directors, changes to your financials or business, or changes to offering terms. These may require an amendment to your Form C, which gives investors 5 business days to reconfirm and carries a fee. See What are Amendments?
Follow the communication rules. Anything that mentions your offering's terms outside StartEngine is limited to basic “tombstone” information and must link to your campaign page. See Terms v Nonterms – Campaign Communication.
Plan ahead if you might extend. Extensions require an amendment and have their own deadlines. See Reg CF Campaign Extension Policy.
Keep your tracking running. Review your analytics each week to see which channels bring in investors, and shift your effort to what's working. See How do I track my Reg CF campaign activity?
In the final two weeks
Increase updates, emails, and social posts. Let your community know the deadline is coming.
Reach back out to your hotlist and anyone who followed your campaign but hasn't invested yet.
Post a closing note thanking your investors.
After your campaign closes, see What happens after my Reg CF closes? Questions? Reach out to your Campaign Manager.
