What happens if a company has a stock split?
All of your completed investments will continue to show the amount of shares you purchased based on the share amount at the time of your purchase. All investments listed in the Crowdfunding Invest section and all orders in your order history will continue to share the original share amount that you purchased.
The only area of your portfolio that you will see the split is in the Trades section. If you do not see a Trade section, you may need to set up a StartEngine Investment Account. You can do that using this link! Please note that this is separate (but related to) your Primary account. Your Primary account is what allows you to invest; your Investment Account allows you to deposit funds and to trade on our Secondary platform.
There are limited companies quoted on secondary due to an extensive onboarding processes and/or their ability to trade. We are currently are in the process of onboarding more companies and hope to have all companies quoted on secondary in the future. If a company that is quoted on Secondary goes through a split, you will be notified and the shares post-stock split will be uploaded to your Investment Account, the share price and cost basis will be updated as well. Please keep in mind that if you just created a StartEngine Investment account, it can take up to 14 business days for your stock split to be reflected once your account is approved.
